This historical Colt holster revolver, with correct factory 6 3/8 octagon barrel, is a very fine example. Caliber: .36 Serial numbers: 13511P and 13514P Engraved by Louis Daniel Nimschke. 1862. It incorporated the "creeping" or ratchet loading lever and round barrel of the .44-caliber Army Model of 1860 but had a barrel one half inch shorter, at 7.5 inches. The New Model 1863 Army was the last of Remington's .44 caliber percussion revolvers. Less than 29,000 were made and was a streamlined version of the 1851 Navy revolver.
